Luis Arraez delivers walk-off hit in home debut against Dodgers

Luis Arraez delivered a walk-off hit to defeat the Dodgers in his Padres home debut in one of the most exciting games of the season. Michael King and Tyler Glasnow went head-to-head in a classic pitcher's duel, with King delivering his best start of the season, hurling 7 scoreless innings and striking out 11. Meanwhile, Glasnow struck out 10 and allowed just one run over seven innings on a solo homer from Luis Campusano in the 3rd inning. The Dodgers manufactured a game-tying run off of Yuki Matsui in the 8th inning on a sac-fly from Freddie Freeman. Mike Shildt opted to bring in his closer Robert Suarez to pitch the 9th inning with the score tied at 1. Luis Campusano led off the bottom of the 9th with a double down the left field line. Tyler Wade entered the game to pinch-run for Campusano. After Ha-Seong Kim struck out, Luis Arraez ripped the first pitch he saw from Michael Grove back up the middle as Wade raced around to score from second base, and deliver a Padres victory. Matt Waldron will face James Paxton on Saturday night.
