The Padres lost their second straight game to the Rockies on Tuesday night, guaranteeing a series loss to their division rival. Through the first five innings, Ryan McMahon's solo homer was the only run scored by either team. But things fell apart in the 6th for the Padres. After the first two batters of the inning reached base, Jacob Stallings grounded into a double play. After Brendan Rodgers delivered an RBI-single, Stephen Kolek entered the game, and gave up four consecutive singles, with the Rockies scoring four runs altogether to take a 5-0 lead.

Ezequiel Tovar led off the 7th with a solo home run to extend the Rockies lead to 6. The Padres made some noise in the bottom of the 7th however. Jurickson Profar drew a leadoff walk, followed by a single from Xander Bogaerts. Luis Campusano and Luis Arraez each drove in runners with RBI-singles to make it a 6-2 game. Fernando Tatis Jr. followed with a single of his own to load the bases with two outs. Campusano then scored from third on a wild pitch, but Jake Cronenworth lined out to right field to end the inning. Those would be the only runs the Padres would score, as they fell 6-3. The Padres will try to avoid being swept on Wednesday with Michael King on the mound.
