Yu Darvish was brilliant in the Padres' 9-1 win over the Braves on Sunday night, pitching 7 scoreless innings and striking out 9 while allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk. Darvish has been sensational since returning from the IL, hurling 24 shutout innings in 4 starts with a 24:3 K:BB ratio. Including his final outing before hitting the IL, Darvish is in the midst of a career-best 25 consecutive scoreless innings streak. Darvish also earned his 200th career win between the Nippon Professional Baseball League and the Major Leagues, becoming the third Japanese-born pitcher to reach the milestone behind Hiroki Kuroda (203) and Hideo Nomo (201).

Darvish wasn't the only story of this game however, as the Padres' bats were alive and well, as the Friars scored 9 runs on 14 hits. Each starter had at least one hit, and Jurickson Profar had 3 hits to up his slash line to .335/.422/.522. The Padres jumped all over Bryce Elder in the 1st inning, scoring 3 runs, highlighted by Jake Cronenworth's 2-run blast. The Padres rallied for 4 runs in the 4th inning, while Luis Campusano and Ha-Seong Kim each added a solo bomb in the 5th and 7th innings for good measure. The Padres and Braves will play a doubleheader on Monday after Saturday's game was rained out.
