Padres beat Marlins 2-1

The Padres beat the Marlins 2-1 on Monday afternoon, doing two things they've struggled with lately: beating left-handed starters and winning at home. Michael King delivered another strong start, striking out 7 while allowing just a solo home run to Jazz Chisholm in the 3rd inning while completing 5 innings. Chisholm's home run tied the game at 1 after Donovan Solano's solo shot in the 2nd inning. Marlins shortstop Tim Anderson had a 7th inning he'd like to forget, making two costly errors that allowed Ha-Seong Kim to score the go-ahead run with 2 outs. Robert Suarez pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning to earn his 16th save of the season. Matt Waldron will take the mound on Tuesday for the Friars.
