Padres drop series finale to Marlins 9-1

The Padres lost Wednesday's series finale to the Marlins 9-1, but still came away with a 2-1 series win. Yu Darvish struggled and was unable to pitch deep into the contest, completing just 3 innings and throwing 66 pitches. Darvish had only given up 3 runs (2 earned) and the team did not announce that he departed the game due to an injury. The Marlins totaled 16 hits, while Ha-Seong Kim's solo home run was the only run production the Padres could generate. They'll now hit the road and enjoy an off day on Thursday before playing the Royals beginning on Friday.

UPDATE: Mike Shildt said after the game that Yu Darvish felt some tightness in his hamstring, and that's why he was removed after just 3 innings. Shildt said he didn't think it was significant, but Darvish would receive some additional testing and wasn't sure whether or not Darvish will need to miss any additional time.
