Padres offense comes up short in 2-1 loss to Angels

The Padres lost a tough game to the Angels 2-1 on Monday night. Matt Waldron was fantastic, allowing just 1 earned run on 2 hits and no walks in 6.1 innings. Manny Machado hit his first home run in a month in the 1st inning to put the Padres up 1-0. Unfortunately, that would be the only run the Padres would score, as they were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left 7 runners on base, including two baserunners in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings. The Padres also ran into multiple outs on the basepaths, as Ha-Seong Kim was thrown out at third base with 1 out trying to stretch a double into a triple in the 2nd inning and Jurickson Profar was thrown out at home with 1 out when trying to score from 1st base on Fernando Tatis Jr.'s double in the 6th inning.
