Padres lose despite impressive debut from Mazur

The Padres dropped another tough game to the Angels on Tuesday night, losing 4-2 despite Adam Mazur allowing just 1 run through 6 innings in his MLB debut. With the score tied at 1 in the 7th inning, Yuki Matsui allowed all three batters he faced to reach base, including two via the walk, and exited the game with the bases loaded after facing the minimum of three hitters without recording an out. Enyel De Los Santos entered the game and induced a grounder to Donovan Solano at first base, who threw it home to get a force out and save a run. But Zack Neto followed that up with a double over Jurickson Profar's head in left field to bring in 2 runs. Mickey Moniak later scored from third base on a wild pitch, and the 7th inning would prove to be the difference in the game. The Padres brought the tying run to the plate in the 8th inning, but could only bring in one run on a night where they failed to register an extra base hit.
