The Padres beat the A's in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night, with Kyle Higashioka blasting a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning after the Padres blew a 3-1 lead in the 8th inning on a 2-run homer from Tyler Soderstrom off of Enyel De Los Santos. Mike Shildt announced after the game that Jeremiah Estrada was sick and not even at the stadium for this game. The Padres built that 3-1 lead with 3 runs in the 5th inning thanks to an RBI-single from Luis Arraez and a 2-run single from Jurickson Profar, who left the game after an awkward swing in the 8th inning. Mike Shildt said after the game his knee had been bothering him for a little while but it wasn't deemed serious. Randy Vasquez rebounded nicely after allowing a home run to Abraham Toro on the very first pitch of the game to pitch 5 innings with just that one earned run. Fernando Tatis Jr. also went 2-4 at the plate, extending his hitting streak to 17 games. The Padres will hope to complete their first sweep of the season on Wednesday afternoon.
