Padres swept by Mets

The Padres dropped Sunday's series finale 11-6 to the Mets, capping off a 3-game sweep in the Big Apple. Dylan Cease had one of this worst starts of the season, yielding 7 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in just 3.2 innings of work. With the Padres trailing 7-2 in the top of the 8th inning, the Friars closed the game to 1 run by scoring 4 runs, highlighted by Jackson Merrill drawing a walk with the bases loaded and Ha-Seong Kim's RBI-double. But unfortunately, the Padres gave it right back, with the Mets scoring 4 of their own in the bottom of the 8th, all off of Jeremiah Estrada, who gave up 5 hits and a walk while only recording one out. Things won't get any easier for the Padres, who dropped a game below .500 and now travel to Philadelphia to face the team with the best record in the National League.
