Diamondbacks top Padres 9-1

The Padres lost to the Diamondbacks 9-1 on Sunday afternoon, losing the series 2 games to 1 and dropping to 49-45 on the season. Dylan Cease bounced back from a poor outing his last time out to strike out 8 and walk just 1 over 7 innings, though he did allow 3 earned runs. Corbin Carroll hit a solo homer in the 1st inning to put Arizona up 1-0. Jurickson Profar responded with a solo blast of his own in the bottom of the 1st to tie the game. That score held until the 7th inning, when Eugenio Suarez hit a 2-run shot off of Cease to put Arizona up 3-1. The Snakes would go on to add 5 more runs in the top of the 9th, and and win 9-1. The Padres will enjoy a day off on Monday before facing the Mariners on Tuesday.
