Vasquez leads Padres to 4-0 win over Nationals

Randy Vasquez continued to prove his worth to the Padres, hurling six scoreless innings and registering the fourth consecutive quality start from a Padres starter in a 4-0 win over the Guardians. Luis Arraez and Jurickson Profar hit back-to-back solo home runs in the 5th inning of a scoreless game to put the Padres up 2-0. Jackson Merrill drove in San Diego's other two runs with a single in the 6th inning and a fielder's choice with the bases loaded in the 8th inning. The Padres improved to 52-20 with the win as the trade deadline rapidly approaches.
