The Padres earned a thrilling 6-4 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards on Friday night, thanks in large part to two 2-run homers from Jurickson Profar. The Padres essentially went with a bullpen game after Adam Mazur lasted just 2.2 innings. With the Padres trailing 2-0 in the 6th inning, Profar blasted his first 2-run homer of the night to tie the game. San Diego added two more runs thanks to RBI-doubles from both Xander Bogaerts and Jackson Merrill.

Things got very interesting in the 8th inning, when Anthony Santander hit a leadoff solo home run off of Adrian Morejon to make it a 4-3 game. With runners on the corners and one out, Mike Shildt brought in Robert Suarez to try for a 5-out save, but Baltimore tied the game on Ryan Mountcastle's sac-fly. Then in the top of the 9th inning with Luis Campusano on 1st base and two outs, Profar's MVP-caliber season continued, as he blasted his second 2-run shot of the game, this one off Baltimore closer Craig Kimbrel, to put the Padres back on top 6-4. Suarez pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning to earn the win and secure the victory, San Diego's sixth in a row. Michael King will match up against Dean Kremer in game 2 on Saturday.
