San Diego State senior guard Lamont Butler has decided to return to the Aztecs after initially declaring for the NBA Draft but not hiring an agent in order to retain his eligibility. In a statement from the school, Butler explained his decision:
Padres drop series to Yankees
The Padres lost Sunday’s rubber match to the Yankees 10-7 on Sunday, as the Padres dropped to 24-29 on the season. In what was billed as a pitcher’s duel between Yu Darvish and Gerrit Cole, the two teams combined to score 16 runs on 17 hits.

Michael Wacha’s strong stretch of pitching continued on Saturday, as he allowed just one run entering the 7th inning. That run was allowed in the 1st inning on an RBI-double by DJ Lemahieu. Fernando Tatis tied the game with a solo homer.

The Padres jumped out to an early ead against their former top pitching prospect MacKenzie Gore on Tuesday afternoon. Xander Bogaerts launched his 7th home run of the season over the right field fence in the 1st inning to give the Padres a 2-0 lead.

On October 9th, 2022, New York was the site for one of the most historic games in Padres history. This was do or die. If they win, they move on to face the Dodgers. If they lose, they will be heading home to think about what could have been.
