Padres offense comes up short in 2-1 loss to Angels
The Padres lost a tough game to the Angels 2-1 on Monday night. Matt Waldron was fantastic, allowing just 1 earned run on 2 hits and no walks in 6.1 innings. Manny Machado hit his first home run in a month in the 1st inning to put the Padres up 1-0.
Tucupita Marcano banned from MLB for life for gambling
UPDATE: Major League Baseball announced on Tuesday morning that Tucupita Marcano has been banned for life from baseball after it was determined that he made hundreds of bets on baseball, including on Pittsburgh Pirates games.
Padres miss out on sweep due to costly 9th inning
The Padres nearly completed their first sweep of the season, but couldn’t lock down the final 3 outs of the game on a day when their top relievers were unavailable. Michael King was terrific, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings.

Basketball legend and La Mesa native Bill Walton passed away on Monday after losing his battle with cancer. Walton attended Helix High School, before going on to star at UCLA for legendary coach John Wooden, where he won 2 national championships.
