Singapore Airlines to Depart Houston, Drop Flight to Manchester

Houston — Singapore Airlines , which has operated out of Houston since 2008, will be pulling out of the city in 2025 . This means the Houston- Manchester route that extends to Singapore will cease to exist .

The airline announced Monday it will discontinue its service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) effective April 1, 2025 . Singapore Airlines cited the adjustment was made as the company reviews its demand and capacity across all of its popular destinations.

“Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to align our capacity with demand,” Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, said in a statement. “These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans.”

Singapore Airlines made no mention on if cutting Houston out of its network would be permanent.

Historically the Houston to Manchester Airport (MAN) in England route would take place five times a week and then continue on to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) . Manchester replaced the Houston to Moscow’s Domodedovo Mikhail Lomonosov Airport (DME) connection in October 2016 . The Manchester-Singapore route will continue its current five-times-weekly flights as usual.
