<body><div><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=2dPQP8_0viOf9WV00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2dPQP8_0viOf9WV00" width="980" height="653" ><figcaption>Photo via JR, Townsquare Media Lansing</figcaption></figure><p>One of my favorite places to grab breakfast in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lansing,_Michigan">Lansing</a> is <a href="https://www.facebook.com/goldenharvestrestaurant/">Golden Harvest</a>, on the corner of Turner and Dwight on the north end of <a href="https://www.iloveoldtown.org/">Old Town</a>.</p><p>Not only is the food always top-notch, the whole Golden Harvest experience is unlike anywhere else you'll find in the area - or dare I say, pretty much anywhere else at all.</p><p>It's impossible to accurately describe the Golden Harvest experience in words. You've truly got to go yourself to fully understand. But let me offer you a light primer.</p><h2>The Décor at Golden Harvest</h2><p>If you're unfamiliar with Golden Harvest and just passing by, you might think it's a junkyard.</p><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=0xx3Qu_0viOf9WV00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0xx3Qu_0viOf9WV00" width="1600" height="1067" ><figcaption>Photo via JR, Townsquare Media Lansing</figcaption></figure><p>The outside of the building is covered - and I mean <i>covered</i> - in an eclectic assortment of road signs, trinkets and other household items.</p><p>Every time I stop by, I notice something else on the building that I somehow never noticed before. You'll look around and see walls covered in stickers ranging from cutesy to macabre, tame to profane. If you go in the fall, you might guess that some of the décor is seasonal; let me assure you, most of what you see remains on display year-round.</p><h2>The Menu at Golden Harvest</h2><p>You won't be handed a paper menu at Golden Harvest, and it's not one of those places where you're expected to scan a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code">QR code</a> to see the restaurant's offerings either.</p><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1gOcxZ_0viOf9WV00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1gOcxZ_0viOf9WV00" width="1600" height="1067" ><figcaption>Photo via JR, Townsquare Media Lansing</figcaption></figure><p>There are three ever-changing dry-erase boards that show everything you can order at Golden Harvest, and everything I've ever tried has been downright delicious. I got the "Bubba Sandwich" last time - bacon, sausage and cheese sandwiched between two slices of French toast, and served with a side of home fries. The time before that I got the "Big Basic" - pictured below. (Just <i>look</i> at those cheesy scrambled eggs!)</p><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1foG2L_0viOf9WV00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1foG2L_0viOf9WV00" width="1600" height="1067" ><figcaption>Photo via JR, Townsquare Media Lansing</figcaption></figure><p>If your palate is a little more adventurous, you could try a chorizo black bean omelet, or perhaps the Cereal Killer Sandwich - featuring Cap'n Crunch-crusted French toast, ham, an over hard egg, and American cheese.</p><p>Your table will get its order after the table that ordered before you gets theirs. There's no hurrying deliciousness.</p><h2>Does Golden Harvest Accept Debit or Credit Cards?</h2><p>Every breakfast is a flat $15 at Golden Harvest, where cash is king. Don't be surprised to hear the occasional F-bomb from the owner while she's on the griddle and chatting with customers at the bar.
