While those are all great and iconic parts of the Fall, there is one other part of fall in Michigan that can't be missed.</p><p>For the 26th year in a row, Fredrick Meijer Garden's annual "Mums at Meijer Gardens" event will return all of October, showcasing Michigan's largest display of Chrysanthemums a.k.a. mums.</p><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1uMCOW_0vmHpxm700" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1uMCOW_0vmHpxm700" width="1250" height="703" ><figcaption>Photo by Patrick Donnelly on Unsplash</figcaption></figure><h2>Mums at the Garden Event</h2><p>Starting on <b>October 1st until October 31st</b>, Fredrick Meijer Gardens (FMG) will feature "thousands of garden and specialty mums in stunning autumn colors". While the mums are the main draw each year, FMG is shaking things up this year by spicing up how the mums are being displayed.</p><p>There will now be mum walls, trellises, and floral arrangements to add a visual flair to the red, orange, bronze, and white mums people want to see. Another exciting addition is that <b>every Tuesday in October from 5 pm to 9 pm,</b> you can experience the Glow Garden in all its glowing glory, as well as live music, food, and more for <b>FREE.</b> </p><h2>Why Mums?</h2><p>Summer and its beautiful summer flowers are now entering the rearview mirror. While we can expect summer flowers like daylilies and hydrangeas to start dying soon, <a href="https://www.angi.com/articles/why-mums-are-perfect-fall-flower.htm">mums typically bloom during the fall and keep their shape and color until the first frost</a>.
