It was a quake confirmed by a seismologist located just to the northeast of Keyesport, Illinois that just happened at 9:50pm Wednesday night.<figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=4JTys6_0vkbBesk00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4JTys6_0vkbBesk00" width="917" height="535" ><figcaption>USGS</figcaption></figure>What's odd about this location is it's more or less in between the <a href="https://www.usgs.gov/programs/earthquake-hazards/new-madrid-seismic-zone">New Madrid Seismic Zone</a> and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabash_Valley_Seismic_Zone">Wabash Valley Seismic Zone</a>. No, a 2.1 magnitude quake is no big deal, but it's just not a part of Illinois that sees many quakes.It will be interesting to see how many people report feeling this quake. Once the USGS collects reports, I'll update this with a felt report. Considering there are rarely any earthquakes in this part of Illinois, I'd bet this got at least a few people's attention.</div></body>
