Two Louisiana Teens Wanted in Attempted Murder Case Turn Themselves In

Port Barre officials say two teenagers wanted on attempted murder charges turned themselves in at the police station.

The two young men turned themselves in at around 10:30 Tuesday night.

(Port Barre, Louisiana) – Two groups of young people were in a convenience store last week, and Port Barre Police Chief Deon Boudreaux says two 16-year-olds are now wanted for attempted-first-degree murder after shots were fired according to KLFY .

Officials say that while they have been searching, including at the home of two suspects, neither one has been apprehended by police officers yet.

A 19-year-old male victim was shot when guns were drawn during the incident at a convenience store. The search continues to find two teenagers, Brayvion Pickney and Jermanique Pierre.

As the search continued this past weekend, the Chief says they did serve search warrants at the homes of the two 16-year-olds,

We’ve conducted operations with the Saint Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and also conducted search warrants on both of the homes that they reside in early Saturday morning. We were not able to locate either of those young men. As far as we know, they’re in hiding right now; they’re on the run.

As the search continues for the two males, officials are asking anyone who knows anything about their whereabouts to call the Port Barre Police Department at 337-585-6212.

According to officials, the two 16-year-olds are said to have been at the convenience store when another group of people showed up. The two teenagers had some sort of verbal altercation with the other group of people and threats. Chief Boudreaux says they are looking for the two 16-year-olds as they were both seen shooting during this fight.

The 19-year-old victim is said to be recovering.
