We are approaching the peak of hurricane season and folks along the Gulf Coast will soon have all eyes on the Gulf of Mexico.

We previously reported that a “cool front” could sweep across the south by August 19th and now Meteorologist Zack Fradella says also to keep an on the gulf that week.

According to his social media post, “We will have a front make it to the Gulf, notice how the East Coast trough pinches off and retrogrades across the Gulf. That’s one way to get storm development entering peak season.”

In a graphic he shared, you can see something enter the gulf and skirt along the coast, thus that is what meteorologists will be focusing on in the days ahead.

While there is nothing to worry about now, we should always have a plan in place as the peak of hurricane season approaches.

Conditions will become much more favorable in the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico in the weeks ahead and if there’s any chance for development, we want you and your family to be aware.

Again, Fradella is not calling for a storm in the gulf, but with the conditions on the East Coast, it is worth watching as we begin the new week.
