Days have been spent preparing for Francine’s arrival. Thousands of people went to marinas or other areas to retrieve boats.

It was a bad day for someone who was driving in the area of the Shell Beach boat launch in Natchitoches according to the sheriff’s department .

An accident happened as the woman was trying to get a boat on a trailer, but was unsuccessful. They were just trying to get the vessel off the water before the storm.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office was called out by a wrecker service to assist them in getting the vehicle out of the water after it became fully submerged.

Thankfully, the woman driving the vehicle was able to get to safety after crawling through the window on the driver’s side of the car which was open at the time that the vehicle got pulled into the water.

Quoting the information on their Facebook page,

While backing a boat trailer on the ramp with a 2017 Ford Explorer in an effort to load the boat, the vehicle lost traction backing into the river.

The SUV was pulled into the murky waters of the Cane River. The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s dive team was called in to help with the recovery.

And while you may be thinking to yourself that things like this just can’t happen. They can and they do:

Thankfully, just like the story above from Natchitoches Parish, the following video shows a man who almost loses his boat and his truck:

Last year in Washington state, a man had a mishap while trying to put his boat in the water, he ended up needing assistance after his truck ended up underwater. Thankfully, he was not hurt, and he was able to save his two dogs:
