Damage reports and video from these incidents have been steadily flowing since Hurricane Francine’s wind and water started to plague the state of Louisiana on Wednesday.

After the storm made landfall in Terrebonne Parish as a Category 2 hurricane, but then rapidly turned into a Category 1 storm, that didn’t stop the battering winds and water from doing damage.

Videos have been coming out from across the state showing the voluminous number of problems across the state. Maximum sustained winds at landfall were 100 mph.

Earlier this week many people were thinking that other areas in southwest Louisiana would be at the receiving end of the storm, but when the track of the storm began to shift east, weather professionals could be found in Morgan City and beyond.

At around 5 o’clock this afternoon when Francine was making landfall, you can tell by this video of the Project MesoVort pack in Morgan City that the storm was packing some major winds. Thankfully no one was around at the project when the winds were whipping up. You can see what things looked like in this video from RadarOmega@RadarOmega.

When the storm was just getting into the state, the effects of the winds were already wreaking havoc with property, and in this case, three boats. MyRadar Weather @MyRadarWX shows what happened:
<nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate>

Three ships have collided and are drifting down the river in Dulac, Louisiana via @MatthewCappucci : pic.twitter.com/38EL0Xnm4S — MyRadar Weather (@MyRadarWX) September 11, 2024

These were three shrimp boats that were tied together that can be seen floating down the body of water.

Here is more video of what conditions were like in Dulac. Tens of thousands of customers are out of electricity, and Governor Jeff Landry says there are 2,500 national guardsmen that will be assisting with helping communities to recover.
