Jim Cantore Spots Snake Under Hood of Vehicle While in Louisiana

Hurricane Francine had more than just people relocating as it pounded the southeastern portion of Louisiana, animals, and reptiles were on the move too.

While watching coverage out of Morgan City, I saw two squirrels run behind a reporter as the storm moved into the state, and now we have footage of a snake nestled under the hood of a vehicle.

Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel was in south Louisiana to cover the impacts of Hurricane Francine. While reporting from St. Mary Parish, Cantore told the story of his crew having to have their vehicle “jumped.”

As he was standing in the rain, Canotre reported that an officer assisted in jumping their vehicle after it died, and when the officer lifted the hood of his truck to get to the battery, they noticed a large snake on the engine of the vehicle.

The internet reacted to not only the snake under the hood but to what the man told the crew about the snake. According to Cantore, the officer told them the snake was the product of two venomous snakes and that it was harmless.

Many questioned that assessment and according to Louisiana Snake ID , the snake under the hood was just a water snake.

Whatever the case was, seeing any time of snake under the hood of the vehicle can be startling and I am certain that those who saw it were.
