Two men from Douglas were recently arrested after a bag of suspected drugs allegedly fell from one of their pockets while they were speaking to a Coffee County Drug Unit (CCDU) detective.

According to a copy of a CCDU preliminary report, on January 3, around 2:58 p.m., a detective observed two white males loading a riding lawnmower into the trunk compartment of a 2007 Toyota Camry.

While the detective was speaking to one of the men, identified as 54-year-old Julian Keith Roberson, a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine allegedly fell out of his pocket.

Roberson, according to the report, told the detective that the suspected meth was not his but belonged to the person he was with, 44-year-old Jeremy Noyes.

A field test was conducted on the substance, resulting in a positive test for 0.4 grams of methamphetamine, according to the detective.

As a result, both men were arrested and charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine.

According to the current Coffee County Jail roster, Roberson has been released from jail, while Noyes remains in custody.
