This weekend, a man from Pridgen was charged after he allegedly became aggressive toward local deputies who were working security detail at a location in Broxton. According to the report, the suspect threatened to kill the deputies during the incident, which led to his arrest.

A copy of the incident report states that two detectives and a deputy were on security detail at 212 Lane Avenue in Broxton on the night of Friday, July 20th. Around 11:42 p.m., they noticed that a man, identified as 52-year-old Dexter Collins of Pridgen, was "approaching several different female individuals and physically touching them," according to the report.

Several women approached the detectives and the deputy and advised them that they did not want to be touched by Collins. One of the deputies approached Collins, who, he said, "seemed to be highly intoxicated," and advised him to keep his hands to himself because he was "making some of the women feel uncomfortable."

Collins stated that he understood, and then some other male individuals at the event took Collins aside and "advised him to try to stay away from the females." However, Collins allegedly "stumbled" back and began speaking to a female who was standing in the middle of a barn at the location.

As Collins was having a conversation with the female, he then stumbled towards the deputies and the detective "in a very fast, aggressive manner." The report says that some of the other individuals noticed Collins walking in their direction and began trying to stop him.

According to the report, Collins got close to one of the detectives and began yelling in his face, stating, "You know me!"

The deputy stated that he and other individuals told Collins to back away and relax, and another individual at the location grabbed him and advised him that he had arranged a ride home for him.

The report states that Collins then "became very irate" and began yelling, "I will f*** them up!"

Law enforcement advised Collins to relax and go with one of the individuals so they could get him home.

According to the deputy, Collins then became physically aggressive toward him and the other law enforcement officials "as if he was trying to attack" them, but one of the individuals and a host were holding Collins and pulling him away from them.

Collins then allegedly got close enough to one of the deputies and grabbed his right hand and was holding onto him while other individuals were steadily pulling him away, per the report. The deputy stated that he advised Collins to let go of his hand several times and told him to relax and let the other guys get him home.

According to the deputy, Collins then yelled, "I'll kill y'all!"

Deputies then advised Collins that he was under arrest, and during the process of handcuffing Collins, he became "irate" and began resisting. Once Collins was handcuffed, an individual advised him to calm down, and Collins allegedly responded, "If they take these handcuffs off, I will kill all of them!"

Collins was then placed in the back of a patrol vehicle and transported to the Coffee County Jail. The deputy said when Collins was being removed from the patrol vehicle, officers noticed that he had spit all over the back doors of the vehicle.

As a result, Collins was booked and charged with one count of terroristic threats. He has since been released from custody.
