CAPE GIRGeARDEAU, MO – U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. on Tuesday sentenced Jason M. Miller, 45, of Perryville, to five years in prison for possessing over 3,000 images of child sexual abuse material.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified Miller during an investigation into online sharing of child sexual abuse material. On September 3, 2022, two files were traced to Miller's address, leading to a court-approved search of his home. Miller confessed to downloading and viewing child pornography since his teenage years, citing an addiction. Over 3,000 images were found on his electronic devices.

Miller pleaded guilty in April to one count of possession of child pornography.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Hunter prosecuted the case.

This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit Project Safe Childhood.
