    Sissonville Fire Department hosting weekend car show

    SISSONVILLE, W.Va. — Car owners and enthusiasts will gather in Sissonville on Saturday, as the Sissonville Fire Department hosts their third annual car show.

    The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 27, 2024, includes live music, prizes, vendors and children's activities for community members and visitors to enjoy.

    "Come out and enjoy the variety of vendors, vehicles, good music and meet your Sissonville Fire Department members," representatives with the fire station wrote in a social media post announcing this year's event.

    Saturday's show will take place at Sissonville Middle School, located at 100 Middle School Lane. Registration opens at 9 a.m. Car owners may register until 11 a.m.

    Several awards will be presented to participants. Award categories include:

    • Best of Show
    • Chief's Award
    • Best Classic (Year 2000 and older)
    • Best Modern (Year 2001 and newer)
    • Best Bike
    • Best Jeep
    • Top 10

    The West Virginia Jeep Club will provide an RTI ramp for use during the show, organizers said.

    Several vendors will join the event, offering food and other items for sale. The Gettin' Piggy With It 304 Competition BBQ Team and Catering Service will sell pulled pork, baby back ribs, baked beans, cheesy mac and fiesta corn. Other vendors and sponsors include Sunset Slush, Chloe's Main Squeeze, Quantum Sports Center, Ace Services, Iris and Daffodil, Coleman Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer, Stowers Auto Body, and Stowers Customs.
