In a recent announcement, a popular Arby’s location in the Chicago metropolitan area has permanently closed its doors, leaving devoted fans mourning the loss.

Located at 1331 Golf Road, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, the closure was marked by a handwritten sign on the door that simply stated, “Business closed.” The sign also directed Arby’s enthusiasts to visit other nearby locations in Niles and Des Plaines, thanking customers for their support over the years.

Reacting to the closure, many local fast food aficionados took to Facebook to share their sentiments. One customer lamented, "Arby’s is nearly becoming the end of an era around Chicagoland areas. This was the last Arby’s I’ve eaten at, and their quality beef wasn’t as good as it used to be."

Another commenter noted the chain’s recent spate of closures in the Greater Chicago Area, stating that there are now "very few locations left." Reflecting on the past, a third diner mentioned the chain's perceived decline over the last decade, recalling closures from 15 years ago.

While some customers expressed dissatisfaction with Arby’s food quality, likening it to "paint and rubber," others shared fond memories. One saddened fan wrote, "This is too bad. It’s been my favorite fast food place since I was a little kid." Another voiced relief that other local Arby’s locations remained busy, expressing their love for Arby’s roast beef.

Arby’s, known for its roast beef sandwiches and curly fries, operates a total of 3,413 restaurants across the United States. The closed Rolling Meadows location was owned by franchisee Miracle Restaurant Group, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on June 20, as reported by Yahoo Finance. The franchisee oversees 25 Arby’s locations in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas and is expected to sell multiple locations as part of its bankruptcy restructuring.

As fans bid farewell to the Rolling Meadows Arby’s, they reminisce about the chain’s presence in the local dining scene and hope for the continued success of their remaining favorite fast food spots.
