ATV Crash Claims Life of Bad Axe Man

Colfax Township, MI – In a tragic accident yesterday evening, a 68-year-old man from Bad Axe lost his life in an ATV crash at the intersection of Lackie Road and Soper Road. This was reported by the Huron County Sheriff.

Randy S. Haley, the victim, was found at the scene by deputies from the Huron County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency personnel. Preliminary investigations suggest that Haley may have turned onto Lackie Road too quickly, resulting in his ejection from the ATV. The vehicle, a 1996 Yamaha, reportedly overturned multiple times before coming to rest on top of him.

Haley was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the accident. The crash site was meticulously examined by an accident investigator, and further investigation is ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled to take place in the near future.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Bad Axe Fire Department, Bad Axe Police, Central Huron Ambulance Service, a conservation officer from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and an investigator from the Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Kelly J. Hanson, Huron County Sheriff, expressed condolences to Haley’s family and noted the importance of continued safety measures for ATV operators.
