    James C. Garland Abandons his Run to be District 55’s Next Oregon State Representative.

    James Garland who announced that he will be running as an Independent write-in candidate for District 55 in Oregon last month, has abandoned his election campaign. Garland is well known for publishing the Tulelake News (tulelakenews@yahoo.com) in Klamath Falls, Oregon which has reached almost 197,000 views worldwide since inception.

    Garland, 69, who has been a liberal Democrat most of his life, plans to write another book about his life, rather than become a politician. It will the second book in a series called "Up from Here".

    In an email to friends, Garland explained that he currently exploring moving from his apartment on 5th street to a new location that better suites him. After he lands in his new place, he will be looking for a building to also teach drama, theatre production, and do TV and Radio and film productions out of. He wants to produce plays, and an original TV series called, "Last Chance Hotel" he wrote in 1989-90.

    Garland enjoys broadcasting classic rock from his apartment near 5th and Pine on a low power, non-commercial, radio station with the call sign of KTNT 102.7 FM. The station can be heard for 2-3 blocks around his apartment on N 5th street. Garland is known on air as JgTheBoss at KTNT 102.7 fm in Klamath Falls and around the world online.

    Locally on the street, he refers to himself as “The people’s mayor” and signs off the Tulelake News as: James C. Garland—a very creative, talented and unknown poor person, but rich with ideas!

    Garland worked on the lower lot at Universal Studios for years and served as a tour guide at the North Hollywood park, for a time he ran an injection molding machine for a recreation products company, and served as shipping and receiving clerk and supervisor. He's been a teacher's aide, and a substitute teacher for many different school districts, worked in retail, food service, manufacturing and owned his own businesses. Internationally he taught English as a second language (ESL) in South Korea for three years. Upon returning, he wrote a procedure manual for an aerospace manufacturing company and won legal cases by writing his own legal motions in different courts of law in both civil and criminal cases in Pro Si. Garland know how to drive a fork lift and worked in a theatre box office and served as an usher at a Drive In Movie Theatre.

    For seven years, he served as a caregiver full time until his mother and a friend passed away.
