    Roll Call

    • Present: Commissioner Laura Cobb, Commissioner Terry Hendrix, Commissioner Roger Hill, Chairman Ryan Robertson

    Citizen and Official Comments

    • Sheriff Jon Daniel: Informed the commission about three vehicles currently at auction, with bids totaling $30,000. He also mentioned that there are three weeks left before the auction closes.
    • Commissioner Laura Cobb: Inquired about the cost of increasing insurance coverage for Sheriff's vehicles to include fitting. County Administrator Lisa Copeland will look into this.
    • Commissioner Terry Hendrix: Clarified that insurance would cover the cost of totaled vehicles minus the upfitting expenses.

    • Tasked the County Engineer with conducting the necessary procedures to finalize the vacation and manage the transfer of the vacated land to abutting landowners.

    Reports from Staff

    A. County Administrator Lisa Copeland:

    • A significant increase in sales tax was reported for February due to an unexpected vendor. The AL Dept of Revenue suggests splitting the amount with the Board of Education and resolving any discrepancies with future payments.
    • Will discuss insurance coverage options for Sheriff's vehicles with Allan from Parnell Insurance and the ACCA.

    B. County Engineer Lee Estes: No new updates.

    C. County Attorney Jason Odom: Not present.

    Discussion Items from the Chairman and Commission

    • Commissioner Terry Hendrix: Raised concerns about the job situation and suggested restructuring the organizational chart to include hiring a Finance Officer.
    • Commissioner Laura Cobb: Proposed having two commissioners sit in on interviews for the Finance Officer position. She also congratulated County Engineer Lee Estes for securing a grant for another year.
