NASHVILLE - With preseason action around the corner, Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan is doing things a bit different than his predecessor Mike Vrabel did.

Callahan has been on the record saying that he wants Titans starters to play snaps during the NFL preseason. That’s something Vrabel was always opposed to.

After Thursday’s practice at Titans camp, Callahan spoke to the media and clarified his plan for which players will and won’t play. He also laid out how much run his first team is going to get.

According to Callahan, Will Levis and the Titans starting offense will play "roughly a series or two, depending on how those series go."

Beyond that, reps should be split fairly evenly between quarterbacks Mason Rudolph and Malik Willis as the Titans coaching staff assesses the backup quarterback battle. Rudolph is definitely favored in that competition, but a good day from Willis would certainly make things more complicated.

Injured players like DeAndre Hopkins, Chidobe Awuzie, and L'Jarius Sneed will obviously not be out there. The only other starters who will not be available are defenders Jeffery Simmons and Harold Landry III.

Levis will play. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears will play. We'll see the starting offensive line. Amani Hooker, T'Vondre Sweat, and Roger McCreary will all see action on defense. There is a lot to watch for on Saturday night if you're a Titans fan.

OT Leroy Watson (knee) has been ruled OUT for the game. Linebackers JoJo Domann (back) and Cedric Gray (shoulder) are questionable to suit up. With how competitive inside linebacker is in Titans camp right now, those are some big injury decisions that will happen before the game.
