The Las Vegas Raiders have pretty much wrapped up training camp in Costa Mesa, California , and will now look to take on the Minnesota Vikings for their first preseason game of the year . They have to figure out how to get their roster from 90 to 53 before the start of the regular season, and to do that, they will use the preseason games.

Against the Vikings, they know who they will play in terms of the other team's quarterback situation. And, that will help Antonio Pierce be able to set up his rotations , which is important because he needs to see everyone play in order to figure out who needs to make the roster, and who doesn't.

In the process, if he hasn't already seen it, he may see that the wide receiver room could definitely be upgraded behind Jakobi Meyers, Davante Adams, and Tre Tucker. Those three are the starters, but behind them, they have guys who have never really been a big part of an offense. That's not to say they can't, but, they may want to try and see if they can get a guy with experience who has done it before.

With some recent NFL news, It's clear the Raiders will have the opportunity to go after a veteran wide receiver.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the New England Patriots are releasing former Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winner JuJu Smith-Schuster. He was the WR1 on that team that won the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, he obviously is not what he once was, but maybe he can help the Raiders. If he is willing to be a WR4/5 guy for the team, and not hinder Tre Tucker and his development, then the Raiders should take a swing on him, but only if the money is right.

The Raiders have around $32 million in cap space available to use right now, according to Spotrac . So, they have money to use. But, they would likely have to cut someone. We know the Raiders are interested in adding more wide receivers to see who can take that last spot on the roster because they have been adding guys the last few weeks, like Dax Milne.

This is something the Raiders could definitely be interested in, but the question of if they will even do it is undetermined. Only time will tell.
