Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett hasn't had the easiest time in the NFL, but he had a moment of brilliance on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. After throwing four interceptions as the lone Rams quarterback to play in preseason Week 1, Bennett unleashed his inner playmaker to win the game.

With 11 seconds left and the Rams down six points on fourth and goal, Bennett delivered a magical side-arm throw to tie the game. All the Rams had to do was convert the extra point and they walked out of SoFi Stadium 1-0.

Bennett rolled left as the pressure came and quickly rifled out a side-arm pass to tight end, Miller Forristall. Forristall fell to his knees to secure the well-placed pass. The Rams celebrated the first of what could be a significant number of wins this season.

Although Bennett's NFL career hasn't been what the team and Georgia fans had hoped for as a fourth-round pick, he's still fighting for his NFL livelihood. He completed 24-of-38 passes for 224 yards, this touchdown, and four interceptions. While head coach Sean McVay won't love the interceptions, Bennett is still the only real backup option on the roster behind Matthew Stafford.

Bennett's playmaking ability will keep him in the league for years to come at this rate. The state of NFL backups is pathetic, and Bennett's gumption has continued to bring success to this point. We hope to see more electrifying plays from Bennett over the next two games.

The 26-year-old has not thrown a pass in a regular season game since being taken in 2023. Stafford, 36, has missed at least one game in four of his last five seasons. There seems to be a good chance we'll see Bennett on the field this fall at some point.
