Week 2 of the preseason is on the horizon. For the New Orleans Saints, they will travel to play the San Francisco 49ers.

The Saints have a plethora of position battles ramping up, including starter at kicker and edge rusher. The offensive line is a work in progress when it comes to Week 1 starters as well. The preseason will play a big role in how the Saints roll out their roster to begin the regular season.

How to watch New Orleans Saints vs. San Francisco 49ers

    • Date: Sunday, August 18, 2024
    • Time: 7 p.m. CT
    • Location: Levi's Stadium - Santa Clara, CA

The game will be nationally televised on FOX . Fans around the country will be able to tune in to see the NFC matchup.

That cable option was not on the table for the Saints' first preseason game. Luckily, more folks will get the chance to watch this weekend.

Kevin Burkhardt will be on the call for the game. Legendary quarterback Tom Brady will be the color announcer for his second career game in the commentating booth.

NFL+ will be the streaming option to seek out if you want to watch the game online.

    Joint practices cancelled between Saints/49ers

This exhibition game was supposed to follow joint practices between the two teams, but those have been canceled due to the number of injuries for San Francisco.

When asked about the cancellation, Saints head coach Dennis Allen noted that it ws disappointing, but he is not overly concerned about it. Seems like it was just an unfortunate sequence for both sides to fail to get even more useful reps.

Regardless, plenty of roster shuffle is yet to shake out. Week 2 of the preseason for the Saints is the next big stepping stone for players vying for a starting spot or place on the roster, in general, to begin the 2024 regular season.
