4 receivers the Lions could trade for to help them solved their receiver depth problem they're dying to solve

It's been well documented by us at this point that the Lions are having a lot of trouble at wide receiver. They've got Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond, but nobody is stepping up to take that third spot and it seems to be irritating the Lions a lot.

To the point where Lions' head coach Dan Campbell said on Monday that the team was "dying for someone to step up." From what we've been seeing at camp and in the first preseason game, that really tracks.

Last week we said that we would be shocked if the Lions didn't make a trade for a receiver before the season starts and some Lions fans asked us if we had any suggestions as to who the team could make a move for. We looked around the league and here's four guys that could come in and take that third spot right now.

    Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Valdes-Scantling has quietly been a pretty productive receiver during his time in the NFL. He helped the Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls and while he had a down year last year, he's had at least 400 yards receiving in every year of his career.

He went to the Bills in free agency, but the Bills receiver room is deep enough to where M.V.S. is the fourth guy on the chart. He's believed to be someone that could get cut at the end of training camp. If the Lions swooped in with a sixth-round pick today they could probably get it done.

    Allen Lazard

It's not working out for Lazard in New York, but that doesn't mean he can't still serve a purpose in the league on a team that has a spot for him. The Lions could really use a big bodied guy with contested catch ability and Lions fans know what Lazard can do because he beat the Lions up a lot when he was with the Packers.

He needs a steady offense with a good quarterback and Zach Wilson wasn't that last year and there's nothing steady about Aaron Rodgers these days. Much like Valdes-Scantling, the Lions could get this done for a sixth rounder.

    Robert Woods

Here's a guy with a lot of connectivity to the Lions. Brad Holmes and Ray Agnew were both part of the Rams' front office when Woods was brought into Los Angeles and Jared Goff spent his first four seasons throwing the ball to him. Two of which were the best of Woods' career.

He's not the guy that was a huge part of the Rams' offense in 2018 and 2019 anymore, but if you're looking for a guy that can reliably put up 500 yards and make catches when you need him, Woods is that guy. A seventh-round pick would probably make this happen.

    David Bell

The recent second-round pick needs to be in a place that can help him, and Cleveland isn't that. He just has so many guys ahead of him at this point that he's not really had the shot to get on the field. When he has there's been some promise there.

The Lions are wide open right now. It's a great place for him to come and get targets. The Lions might have to give up a fifth-round pick to get it done since he's still so young.
