The Dallas Cowboys held their second joint practice of the preseason against the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday and it was a big one as the team was shaking up the offensive line.

Below are some of the biggest takeaways from the day in Oxnard, California. Special shoutout to those with boots on the ground that shared video of practice.

Cooper Beebe at center just works

You've got to give it to Mike McCarthy: His decision to allow Cooper Beebe more time with the first-team offense is immediately paying off. The rookie offensive lineman learning to play center built on a remarkable preseason debut by showing off in practice against the Rams. While the snap accuracy still needs work, he's a bully in the trenches and he showed off his strength and power yet again while also boasting impressive, active hand usage. The play below is a perfect example, as Beebe avoids losing ground by continuously adjusting his hands on the defender and winning the rep.

Beebe showed more of this during team drills. In the rep below, you can see him immediately adjust his hand placement getting under the defensive lineman and anchoring efficiently.

Beebe was given a chance to take the starting role away from Brock Hoffman and if he continues on this trajectory, it'll be game over pretty soon. What is clear is that if the bet works out, and it seems like it already is, Beebe will provide more upside for the Cowboys offense as he can be a bully that dictates the run thanks to his power and overall nastiness. This will be the biggest decision from McCarthy in all of training camp.

On a similar note... Guyton has IHOP beat

With Chuma Edoga out with injury , it's Guyton's show at left tackle. He's making the most out of it, handing pancakes left and right in practice and beating the Rams' first-round rookie Jared Verse. In the play below, Guyton serves a pancake with the help of RB Deuce Vaughn, who chips Verse out of an empty set.

It wasn't the only time that Guyton was taken Rams' defenders to the ground. The dude is cooking at camp and making the Cowboys look like absolute geniuses.

    Other observations from Cowboys' practice

    • KaVontae Turpin appears to be getting a lot of looks when the Cowboys offense is near the end zone , something they laid the foundation for in 2023. Considering how much they like to talk about giving Turpin's speed a bigger role on offense, this might be a key way to do so.
    • Deuce Vaughn was back at practice on Wednesday, a massive development for the running back fighting for a roster spot. He successfully chipped Jared Verse on a play and got some work in with the first team offense, lining up at WR multiple times on the Cowboys' empty set.
    • Donovan Wilson , who could be looking at a Harrison Smith type role on Mike Zimmer's defense with some blitzing duties involved, was spotted doing just that and getting the would-be sack.
