Former South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Spencer Rattler was recently asked at New Orleans Saints training camp about the toughest venues he played at in college.

Rattler, a fifth round selection by the Saints in the 2024 NFL Draft, listed three SEC programs, one ACC program, and one Big 12 program (Rattler spent the first three seasons of his college career with the Oklahoma Sooners).

    Here's his top five:

    1. Florida
    2. Tennessee
    3. Georgia
    4. Clemson
    5. Kansas State

"Start in the SEC, gotta put Florida," said Rattler. "Florida was a tough place to play. We didn't win that game. It was a tough one. Tennessee at night. They did a black out, flew the jets all over. It was a pretty crazy game. Georgia. We played Georgia at noon between the hedges. Should've beat them, but they got us. That was a tough place to play. Clemson, you know, we beat them at their house. Snapped a 40 game win streak. That was a tough place to play at noon as well. We won that. And then let's go back to the Big-12. K-State, pretty cool environment. Tough environment. We won that game, too, though."

Rattler played Tennessee twice during his time at South Carolina and both matchups were absolutely electric. In 2022, Rattler and the Gamecocks ended the Vols' playoff hopes in Columbia via a 63-38 thumping in front of a raucous crowd at Williams-Brice Stadium (one of the most underrated environments in college football).

The Vols, however, got their revenge last season against Rattler and South Carolina in Knoxville, winning 41-20 in front of a hostile crowd at Neyland Stadium.

Rattler's certainly played in some tremendous college football environments. In fact, the crowds that he'll see in the NFL will probably pale in comparison to what he experienced in college.
