Former Tennessee Vols tight end Jakob Johnson has a new home in the NFL.

Johnson, who has primarily played as a fullback in the NFL, spent the first three seasons of his career with the New England Patriots after going undrafted in 2018. The former Vol spent the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.

On Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Johnson is signing with the New York Giants.

Johnson, who is from Germany, is the type of player that doesn't light up the box score, but he's just fine with that. As he noted a year ago, if you're on the field, you better be having fun regardless of whether or not you're getting the ball. That mindset has made Johnson a popular player in every locker room he's been in.

Johnson will join former Vols Eric Gray and Jalin Hyatt on the Giants' roster.
