Former Oregon Ducks star drawing rave reviews with Denver Broncos ahead of NFL Preseason Week 2 action

Training camp and the NFL preseason aren't always the smoothest of transitions for rookies, but that doesn't appear to be the case for one rookie based on the reports coming out of Denver. Former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix has been killing it throughout the preseason process , and has every opportunity to lock up the Week 1 starting quarterback job for the Denver Broncos.

Bo Nix continues to "wow" throughout the preseason

Coming out of college, the reviews on Nix were mixed. He was a highly-accurate quarterback that was great at playing within the Oregon system and showed plenty of arm talent, but there were questions about his ability to drive the ball down the field and create.

Nix didn't exactly impress during his opportunities at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, either. Still, Denver liked what they saw from the signal caller, and believe he is capable of operating head coach Sean Payton's system well.

Throughout training camp, the reviews have been glowing.

A refrain that has been repeated all throughout camp is Nix's budding chemistry with wide receiver Courtland Sutton , who gives him a big body wide receiver on the outside to target. Last year, Sutton hauled in 59 catches for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns, and repeatedly showcased his body control in the end zone and on the sidelines.

For Nix, his ability to get the ball to Sutton will be hugely important, and it seems as though Sutton has been impressed so far.

During Denver's fist preseason game, Nix got his first completion in impressive fashion, rolling to his left, turning his shoulders and delivering a strike on the sideline to Sutton.

By all accounts, Nix is impressing both on and off the field, and while it hasn't been announced, all signs are pointing towards Nix getting the start at quarterback for the Broncos in Week 1.

"While all 3 Broncos QBs played well today, the day reinforced Bo Nix is No. 1. He looked really good. #9sports," Mike Klis from 9 News Denver tweeted.

If he does lock up the starting quarterback spot, Nix will be traveling back up to the Pacific Northwest to play the Seahawks in Seattle.
