Former Oregon Ducks quarterback is beaten out by one of the worst QBs in the league during Raiders camp

On Friday, the Las Vegas Raiders cut one of their quarterbacks during a battle for the third spot on the roster.

The Raiders are in training camp, which means that there are position battles going on all around the roster. The biggest one we know about is the starting QB position, obviously, where Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew have been doing great whether it be during camp or against the Minnesota Vikings.

But there is one behind them as well. Well, there was one. First, it was a battle between undrafted free agent rookie Carter Bradley and Anthony Brown, the quarterback from Oregon. Then it was clear Brown won it during camp. However, this week the Raiders brought in Nathan Peterman due to his familiarity with Luke Getsy's system, having run it with the Chicago Bears.

Peterman, with all due respect, maybe one of the worst NFL quarterbacks ever. His ability to stay in the NFL needs to be studied. But, somehow he must have beat out Brown for that third spot. Brown was a promising QB out of Oregon.

In 2020, Brown transferred to the University of Oregon. His arrival was met with anticipation, especially given Oregon's history of dynamic quarterback play. However, his time at Oregon was somewhat overshadowed by the presence of other quarterbacks like Tyler Shough and, later, Jay Butterfield.

Now, he could make his way back as a practice squad player, but, expect to see him hit another roster for the preseason. You can also expect the Dallas Cowboys to see Peterman on Saturday night.
