The New Orleans Saints got a scare in the first half of their preseason Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Kool-Aid Mckinstry suffers knee injury for Saints vs. 49ers

Luckily, the knee injury is not considered to be serious, according to Saints head coach Dennis Allen.

This news is a bright spot from an otherwise mediocre showing from New Orleans. The defense played fairly well, but there's plenty to improve upon for the black and gold going forward.

Rookie tight end Dallin Holker also suffered an injury Sunday night. His ankle sprain occurred before the game began. The final rookie injury from Week 2 of the preseason was to offensive lineman Sincere Haynesworth. He suffered an ACL injury.

McKinstry will still miss time, but we all know how serious a knee injury can be. At its worst, players miss entire seasons due to knee issues. For the young DB, it sounds like he won't miss that much time.

The Saints are banged up around their roster. The offensive line has lost a couple of depth pieces for the time being. At least Six Saints wide receivers have dealt with some sort of ailment since training camp began, too.

All in all, it should be a sigh of relief for fans regarding McKinstry. He had a noticeable limp when he left Sunday's game. Hopefully, he can return at 100% sooner rather than later.
