Panthers HC Dave Canales reveals he is open to changing his controversial approach to end the preseason

Dave Canales' approach to the preseason has left several who watch and are around the team with questions.

Canales, the Carolina Panthers head coach, elected not to play the starters in the team's two losses in the preseason. The results haven't been pretty. However, on Tuesday, the newly minted leader said he hasn't closed the door on playing the starters in the third and final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.

“I’m open to playing our guys this week,” Canales said. "I collect information and make that decision as we go forward.”

As it turns out, the Bills have elected to rest starters against the Panthers come Saturday's kickoff.

Canales said he made note of that, but the Bills' decisions do not factor into whether he elects to play the starters who have sat on the bench through the first two weeks.

“It’s really just about the strength and health of our units," Canales said.

Already, several Panthers players are itching to play .

"I really want to play," Legette said. "We are taking it day by day. When it is my time, my time is going to come. I'm feeling pretty good."

It is to be determined as to whether Canales will make that happen.
