Being a top-100 selection would conventionally garner some fanfare. That hasn't necessarily been the case for third-round pick , linebacker Trevin Wallace .

In recent weeks, he has stepped into his own, claiming an interception against Aaron Rodgers at a joint practice against the New York Jets Thursday, playing well on Saturday, and scoring another interception in practice Tuesday .

For all the work Wallace has put in, Canales is rather impressed .

"I think he's just a natural football player first and foremost," Canales said. "He's big, and he's fast, and he's got great hands. And that's such a rare combination at the inside linebacker spot. He's got great eyes with his QB's intentions and finishing on the ball."

Wallace was always seen as a bit of a project at the linebacker position. That, fundamentally, hasn't changed.

However, he has earned some praise from his head coach, who knows that the talent Wallace possesses could make him a special player a few years down the line.
