Colin Cowherd goes scorched earth on the Saints and the rest of the NFC South with questionable predictions

Colin Cowherd has never shied away from newsworthy predictions. His latest thoughts regarding the New Orleans Saints and the NFC South are notable.

Colin Cowherd thinks Dennis Allen gets fired during 2024 season

Disclaimer: This take was a part of a bold predictions segment on Cowherd's show.

The analyst also says that the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are both undoubtedly better teams than the Saints. That is... a take - to say the least.

Cowherd says he doesn't see offensive juice from New Orleans. That would make more sense if it didn't follow his statement that the Panthers are more talented than New Orleans.

Alvin Kamara and the Saints' running back room are noticeably more talented than Carolina's RB room. Chris Olave is better than any wideout on the Panthers roster. Rashid Shaheed has unique speed that could lend itself to a breakout for him in 2024.

As for tight end, the mixture of Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill is has more upside than a top TE duo of Ian Thomas and Tommy Tremble. The Saints' defensive unit is far and away better than the Panthers' defensive unit, so that's not even a conversation.

Where exactly does Carolina have more "juice" on their roster?

I'm not seeing that - at all. Not to mention, Bryce Young had a tough rookie season in 2023 and will be in a new system for 2024. At every level, you can argue that the Saints have the upper hand on them. That's the craziest part of Cowherd's breakdown here.

Will Dennis Allen get fired this year?

A slow start to the season could doom Allen. The start of the schedule is much more difficult than the latter half , so the Saints coach must navigate the first month and a half of the season.

If Allen's team struggles mightily to a record like 1-5 or 2-6, then he will absolutely be a potential in-season fire candidate. We will see what happens on that end. Cowherd's notion on that topic is not quite as misleading.

Let's see if the Saints can prove him wrong, as a whole, in 2024.
