Ole Miss ' offense took a major jump last season with the addition of star wide receiver Tre Harris. Alongside quarterback Jaxson Dart , many believe that Ole Miss could boast the best QB/WR tandem in the nation.

One of those people is Harris. The Louisiana Tech transfer wasted no time letting Ole Miss fans know that he was capable of being a catalyst in the passing game. Harris racked up six catches for 133 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener against Mercer and never looked back. Harris hauled in 54 passes for a team-high 985 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023 and looks to top those numbers this coming fall.

Ole Miss has one of the most fearsome rooms of wideouts in the country, but Dart's go-to guy will always be Harris as long as those two are on the gridiron together.

“I do believe we are the best,” Harris said. “We have a really, really good chemistry that we worked on constantly throughout the offseason. Constantly putting in routes, him throwing me the ball and things like that. And, you know, even off the field we are constantly with each other talking about the team, how we can improve the team. Whenever we have to, we have those times where we just checking up on each other."

But it's more than just leading the team on Saturdays. Dart and Harris have both assumed leadership positions heading into the fall and have been extensions of head coach Lane Kiffin with how they handle their responsibilities as teammates.

“That’s one thing that us as a leaders we always keep, we always keep that in mind is that we always want to check up on each other," Harris noted. "Check up on your brother. Just see how you’re doing, mentally, without even talking about football. That’s something that he does for me, really, really well, and that’s something I do for him.”

Dart enters the season as a Heisman dark horse while Harris was recently named as a Second-Team AP All-American. There is no questioning this duo's talent as individuals, but it's how they handle the process of becoming successful that sets them apart from the competition.
