The Georgia Bulldogs are dealing with a handful of injuries ahead of their s eason opener kickoff against the Clemson Tigers next week.

The latest to join the injury list is returning lead rusher Roderick Robinson, who was spotted walking around campus in a walking boot due to a turf toe injury.

Head coach Kirby Smart would not confirm, nor deny his availability vs. Clemson, though he did shout out the rest of the running backs group.

"Don’t know when he’s going to be available," Smart said. "We had a good group of backs really do good things Saturday (in the second scrimmage).”

If it comes down to Robinson being unavailable, the Bulldogs may be forced to look further down their depth chart for help in their backfield considering starting running back Trevor Etienne's game status is also up in the air due to his DUI arrest back in March.

A Look Further Down Georgia's RB Depth Chart

Looking past Robinson and Etienne, the Bulldogs still have plenty of depth at the position, but they're young and inexperienced.

Branson Robinson returns after suffering a season-ending ruptured patella injury during last year's fall camp.

Prior to the injury, Robinson played in 12 of 15 games where he rushed 68 times for 341 yards in 2022.

Smart has been very happy with Robinson's overall progress this offseason.

“From the time of the injury, he never pouted or cried. He just understood that was part of the game, and it was a significant injury,” Smart said. “He did some things in the spring, but he didn't get to go full speed. It's been great having him back from a physical toughness standpoint, a reliability standpoint, ball security, third-down pickups, special teams. He's just a really good football player. I love the way he went about doing things.”

After Robinson, Georgia has walk-on Cash Jones followed by three freshmen in line: Chauncey Bowens, Nate Frazier, and Dwight Phillips Jr.

Smart recently praised Jones saying that he doesn't get enough credit .

Jones, a red-shirt junior played in all 14 games for the Bulldogs last fall. He showed off his dual-threat abilities as he rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown on 22 attempts while hauling in another 92 yards and one touchdown on 11 catches.

Meanwhile, of the three freshmen, Frazier is the one that has outshined the rest throughout camp.

Other Injuries Georgia is Dealing With

    • Smart also informed reporters that Miami transfer wideout Colbie Young is battling a hamstring injury.
    • South Carolina transfer defensive lineman Xzavier McLeod has an undisclosed injury and it's unclear when he will be back.
    • Defensive tackle Warren Brinson is working his way back from an Achilles injury, though he is improving and should be back to practice in full this week.
    • Center Jared Wilson was limited in Saturday's scrimmage with Achilles tendonitis.
