Former Florida Gators HC Dan Mullen predicts where the Tennessee Vols will finish in the SEC in 2024

Former Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen unveiled his 2024 SEC predictions on Thursday morning and he doesn't have the Tennessee Vols finishing near the top of the league.

Instead, Mullen has Tennessee finishing No. 7 in the SEC, just ahead of Texas A&M.

Here's Mullen's entire prediction for how the 2024 SEC season will play out (he has Texas beating Georgia in the SEC Championship game).

It feels like Texas is getting the benefit of the doubt from the national media for some odd reason. The Longhorns should be good, but the assumption that they're going to easily overtake Georgia in the SEC is somewhat bizarre.

As for the rest of Mullen's predictions, it's honestly anyone's guess this season. There are about eight teams in the SEC that could make the College Football Playoff this fall. And you could probably put the names of those eight programs (Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, LSU, Missouri, Tennessee, and Oklahoma) in a hat and have a better chance than Mullen at coming up with a correct prediction.

We'll circle back to Mullen's predictions in January just to see how close the former Florida coach was to being correct.
