Former Ohio State Buckeyes punter Drue Chrisman is hunting for a new NFL gig, and his latest adventure took him to Washington for a tryout. The 27-year-old last played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022 and decided to make a mini-documentary about his tryout with the Commanders.

Chrisman's impressive career at Ohio State included four consecutive Big Ten championships, victories in the 2017 Cotton Bowl and the 2019 Rose Bowl, and clinching the 2021 Sugar Bowl, which also served as a College Football Playoff semifinal. Despite his achievements, he was not selected in the 2021 draft.

His video managed to capture significant attention for its seemingly innocuous content.

The footage starts with Chrisman preparing for what he refers to as his "job interview. " He then exits his hotel, enjoys breakfast, and proceeds to his trial at the Commanders' training facility.

In the video, Chrisman is seen being weighed, showcasing his punting skills, indulging in a "post-workout meal," and getting dressed in the locker room.

The video concludes with a scene hinting that Chrisman was informed he hadn't been successful in joining the team.

Six hours following the upload of the video, Chrisman got a text requesting the removal of posts related to the Commanders.

All of this back and forth led to former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots QB Cam Newton to pay attention to Chrisman's video skills. Newton took to the 4thAnd1Show to say: ""That was immaculate storytelling. I love that creativity. You don’t need to punt anymore—come work with my production company, Iconic Saga.

Hey @DChrisman91, let’s make this happen! DM us."

Considering Chrisman probably has no chance of landing in Washington now, it might behoove him to take up Newton's offer.

Iconic Saga is a company that "administers full production capabilities to clients and brands worldwide. Works including non-scripted digital content, scripted, children’s programming, animation and more have been created or are in development."
