Ravens roster hopeful on the outside looking in after latest injury news

Owen Wright caught a bad break.

In the Baltimore Ravens' 30-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers, Wright left the game injured.

Once all the dust settled , Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced that Wright suffered the foot injury in the third quarter.

"Owen Wright has a broken foot," Harbaugh said. "That's the one that I really have an update on for sure – we know that."

Wright went from potentially earning the Ravens' third running back spot with Keaton Mitchell on the PUP list to likely missing significant time after fracturing his foot.

It is a brutal turn of events.

Wright finished the preseason with 18 rushes for 52 yards, two receptions for 23 yards, and one touchdown. He also had four kick returns for 121 yards.

If Baltimore is looking for that third running back, the team will likely dip into the waiver wire, as several teams will be making cuts ahead of the start of the regular season.

Baltimore starts the season Sept. 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"The bottom line is, we play the Chiefs in 12 days," Harbaugh said. "So, that's our focus. We have to get ready for the game against the Chiefs, and that's what we're doing."
